This fall, Doctor Electric is launching ‘Falling for a Cause: Breast Cancer Awareness – Leaves of Hope.’ Just like changing leaves, we’re honoring the strength and courage of breast cancer survivors. Share your story or the story of a loved one to add a ‘Leaf of Hope’ to our Tree of Strength and inspire others in the community.
Share Your Story or Nominate a Survivor
Whether you’re a breast cancer survivor (e.g., anyone recently diagnosed, currently undergoing treatment, or in remission) or want to honor someone special, we’d love to hear your story. Feel free to answer questions like the ones below or share whatever is on your heart
For Survivors:
- Your Diagnosis: When did you receive the news, and what were your initial thoughts?
- Your Strength: What has been your greatest source of resilience?
- Turning Point: Share a moment that gave you hope.
- Your Advice: What would you say to others beginning their battle?
For Nominators:
- Inspiration: How did their journey impact you?
- Resilience: What makes their strength unique?
- Memorable Moment: Share a key moment that captures their courage.
Share your story in the way that feels most authentic to you:
- A written piece (150-300 words)
- A video (under 2 minutes)
- Deadline November 15, 2024

Testimonial Structure
Introduction:
Survivor’s Name (or indicate if anonymous).
Years since diagnosis or treatment completed.
Relationship to the survivor if shared by a loved one.
2. The Journey:
Briefly describe the survivor’s battle with breast cancer.
What was the greatest challenge they faced?
How did they stay motivated? Who were their biggest supporters?
3. A Moment of Triumph:
A turning point or event that brought hope and inspiration.
Any advice or words of encouragement.
4. Final Message of Hope:
End on a positive note. Share a message of hope for others currently facing this battle.

Weekly Spotlights:
Each week, we’ll feature a new Leaf of Hope, sharing stories of local survivors through social media, email blasts, and on our website.
Online Voting & Community Engagement:
Each testimonial will be posted online to highlight stories of triumph and resilience. We’ll invite the community to vote on the story that resonates most with them. The story that receives the most engagement (votes, comments, and likes) will receive a $1,000 donation from Doctor Electric.

Encourage your supporters to get involved! Here are a few ideas:
- Share on Social Media: Post the link to your story on your own social media accounts and ask friends and family to check it out.
